Top Tips to Re-energise From a Former Zombie Mum
Tired of being tired?
I hear you, I used to drag myself out of my bed every morning feeling more exhausted than I did before I went to bed. Like how is that even possible? But I know I’m not the only one who feels like this, especially when society has trained us to wear our ‘tired and exhausted from being so busy’ badge as a status symbol.
What I’ve been learning is that if nothing changes, nothing changes and that there are some simple things that you can do on a daily basis to bring energy and vitality back into your life.
So here are my top tips from a former zombie Mum to help you snap out of a foggy state and re-energise!
Energy builds energy ~ sometimes we say we’re too tired to exercise, yet it’s the exercise that will give us energy and charge us up!
Exercise instantly lifts your mood, releases stress and boosts your clarity of mind.
Set yourself a goal of a few 15 min workouts for the week and keep it achievable for YOU and YOUR family. One session is better than none!
EAT an abundance of “live” foods, mostly plants! It’s not rocket science – foods from mama nature will energise you as they contain a life activating force. Living foods (fruits & veg) = high vibrational energy! Processed foods = low vibrational energy!
Double the greens on your plate and take extra plant-based supplements to get the edge! (Our fam takes wholefood powders, message the person who shared this with you if you’d like info!)
Don’t be afraid of good fats (they burn fat) and help calm the nervous system and improve emotional clarity
Drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day (don’t guess it, drink it!)
Add a protein smoothie to your day when you’re lacking the most energy
Read the ingredients labels on the products you consume. If you can’t pronounce it or don’t know what it is? Don’t eat it. Food either gives us energy or draws it away.
Learn to meditate (and calm your mind). Particularly for busy mummies! Ancient folk say 15 mins of meditation is equivalent to 3-4 hrs deep sleep.
Stop giving yourself the label of a “tired mama” – if you constantly focus on that, that’s what you’re going to get more of! Create 10 x new I AM statements to reshape those beliefs! I AM ENERGETIC + I AM VIBRANT + I AM EXCITED FOR THE DAY etc
Lastly, breathe. Take in the biggest breath that you’ve taken all day, right now. HOLD and feel how energizing it is as you slowly breathe out. A lot of us spend most of our day shallow breathing but full deep tummy breathing can calm the nervous system and change your state instantly.
Remember that we’ll never FIND time to do these things we have to MAKE time. Do one or a few of these things first and you’ll find you have so much energy to get everything else you need to get done in the day.
